This course applies to persons who are responsible for confined space works being conducted. This includes atmospheric testing, conducting risk assessments and issuing work permits.This course also includes the requirements for entering a confined space.

Legislation / Australian Standards – Identification / Classification of Confined Spaces – Confined Space Hazards and Risk assessment – Gas monitoring / Ventilation – Preparing confined space for entry – Isolation – Select, use and maintain protective equipment – Finalising Permit – Hierarchy of control – Fitting and inspection of full body harnesses – Maintenance of equipment – Permit Control Systems – Entry Equipment – Standby and Rescue Arrangements
Assessment of knowledge will be conducted by use of a workbook and verbal questioning. Participants will also be required to demonstrate competence through a range of practical activities.
